Metal sheds and wood sheds are different jobs
A metal kit shed comes apart roughly the way it went together — panels unbolt, the frame collapses, and it loads flat. Fast, and usually at the cheaper end of the range. The catch is that sheet metal edges are genuinely sharp once a shed has rusted, which is where most DIY shed injuries come from.
A wood shed is demolition. Framing gets cut apart, roofing comes off in layers, and old shingles are heavy and dense. It takes longer and fills more truck than people expect, because a 10x12 shed is more material than it looks like standing in the yard.
Anchors, slabs and what stays in the ground
Most sheds are anchored — auger anchors into dirt, or bolts into a concrete slab. We pull anchors and cut bolts flush as part of the job, so you’re not left with steel spikes in the yard where kids play.
The slab itself normally stays unless you ask. Concrete is dense enough that breaking out and hauling a shed pad gets quoted as its own line rather than folded into the shed price. Plenty of people keep the slab for a future build or just leave it as a patio.
